
Başak İdil Özen
Başak İdil Özen, who started her first piano training at 11 years old, took piano and violin lessons at Pera Fine Arts High School. She enrolled at Nazım Hikmet Academy, Department of Piano in 2009 and studies piano with Ayşe Tütüncü and theory with Murat Opus. Between 2011 and 2015, she took part in Nazım Hikmet Academy Choir and participated in festivals at home and abroad. Özen, who graduated from Istanbul University, Department of Environmental Engineering, completed her second BA at Marmara University Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Piano with professor Ayşe Diriker Sipahi in 2013. She participated in masterclass events with Michael Leslie in Vranje Piano Festival in Serbia and with Satoko Mimura in 2017, with Wook He Jong in April 2018, with Kyung Sik Yu in October 2018 and 2019. In the Bilkent Piano Festival organized in June 2018, Özen had the opportunity to study with Eduardus Halim, Boaz Sharon and Kamerhan Turan in masterclasses and took stage in the concerts in both solo and duo.
Başak İdil Özen, who completed her pedagogical formation at Marmara University, Faculty of Education, is still working as a piano teacher and takes stage in home concerts organized by Tatavla’dan Ada’ya, which was formed during Hyun Sook Tekin’s course on chamber music in 2018 and of which she is a founder. She has continued her MA studies at Marmara University, Institute of Fine Arts since 2017 with Assoc. Prof. Hyun Sook Tekin.
